The Ghost-Seer
after Friedrich Schiller – Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar (October 2025)

A foreign prince, a labyrinthine city, and apparitions that sow doubt.
A free adaptation of Schiller’s unfinished novel, The Ghost-Seer explores manipulation, belief, and the fear of emptiness.
Conceived as a journey through Weimar itself, the production intertwines fiction, architecture, and site-specific sound, blurring the boundaries between audience and inhabitants.
Text and direction: Robin Ormond
Costumes, set, and lighting design: Pauline Schwarz

Thüringer Allgemeine – Michael Helbing, 8 octobre 2025
“Director Robin Ormond shows how such a framework can be filled with both coherence and originality. […]
The result is a successful transposition from eighteenth-century Venice to twenty-first-century Weimar — a reimagining on several levels.”
